Bringing Europe Home

Florence, Italy

Shhhhhhh! (It’s my first Wordless Wednesday, and I’m trying not to talk!)  So, I’ll stifle myself and post two photos instead:

The Basilica di Santa Maria del Fiori, featuring Brunelleschi’s Duomo.

The Ponte Vecchio, spanning the Arno River.

  1. Beautiful photos! I proposed to my now-wife there. Many great memories in this city.

  2. Gina

i love Italy; it’s my most favorite European country because it’s small and easy to navigate and the food, wine & espresso are arguably the best. i have similar pics so this brings back great memories.

    • Glad this brings back pleasant memories, Gina. And as far as Italy goes—What’s not to like!? Right?!

  3. Oh wow…beautiful pics…reminds me that I need to put some money away so I can travel some day! 🙂

    • Glad you like the photos, New View–thank you! And yes, travel is a great way to get a “new view” from there. 😉

  4. Your photos are lovely! They bring back such good memories for me! Glad you’re doing Wordless Wednesdays! Can’t wait to see more! 🙂

    • Thank you so much, Kerry! Evidently, there are several people with happy memories of Florence, and I’m glad that these photos revived those memories. I’m looking forward to Wordless Wednesdays, too–I’m having such fun going through all of these pictures. 🙂

      • I know! You’re making me want to go and dig out my old photos! Can’t wait to see where you take us next!

        • Thanks, Kerry! (and–I wonder where I’ll take us next, as well!)

  5. I have never been there, so your lovely pictures have got me thinking I should go one day! Thank you!

    • You’re welcome! You’re not that far away you know, and it would be well worth the trip, I’m sure. 🙂

  6. Bonita Babe

Ahhhhh, I remember it well — thanks

  7. Silence! We are just enjoying.

  8. One of the prettiest cities in the world to visit.

    • Agreed. And there is soooo much to see and do (and EAT) there!

  9. Beautiful, I want to watch Room with a View and see Maggie Smith and Helena Bonham Carter float about in Florence.

    • Yes, and pretend that we’re floating about along with them. 🙂

  10. TBM

Not sure if I can talk, but I’ve never been good at being quiet, hence sitting in the back of the room for the entire 5th grade. Lovely!!!!!!!!

  11. Seeing these pictures this morning made me so happy! Florence is such a wonderful city. Thanks for sharing these!

    • That’s so nice to hear! I’m glad these photos brought back happy memories for you and cheered your morning.

  12. Oh, this city! I adore her so much. Great photos.

    • Florence is easy to love! Glad you like the photos, Katie–thank you. 🙂
